Thread needs solution

I'm a newbie, I looked for a reply in advance but I did not find anything. I beg your pardon if already my question is some werhe else.
I have a True Image Personal vers.8, XP and I would like to upgrade but before I should be sure that my problem would be solved.

When I try to open Explore Image to recovery just some files, at the moment to create a virtual disk my computer freezes

I double checked: the letter of new disk is available, the file is not corrupted

some friendly suggestion ? thank you

Hello Vittorio!

Welcome to our Forum, it's nice that you've joined us! I completely understand your concern and will be glad to assist you!

Such issues usually occurres when the backup is corrupted. But since you've verified the image, and it is valid, the situation requires investigation. Unfortunately there's not much we can do as the product you own is a very outdated version, and not developed or supported anymore.

I would suggest you to try the following:

Please download the trial version of Acronis True Image Home 2010, install it and create a Bootable Media (you can find instructions in the chapter 15, p. 124 of the User's Guide). After that please either try to mount/explore the image from Windows or restore the required files using Bootable Media. You can find more details regarding mounting the archive in the same User's Guide, chapter 17, p. 136.

I would appreciate if you could keep me posted regarding this question. This will allow me to provide you with further assistance, if needed.

Should you need anything else or have any further questions - feel free to contact us at your earliest convenience, we will be happy to help you!

Thanks Yana, I'll try and for sure I'll report you

first approach I met some trouble with creation of the self bootable CD - I put the flaf for autostart after 10 second, but it does not work. I have benn not able to start it manually.

I tried to start process from the software but I did not get the option "recover just some files"

I study again my Manual for next few nights ;)
