Restore folder backups fails on many files
I am doing folder backups then restores as a test of build 6559. I am running into several errors that I can't seem to get past. My questions is how can I find out why a particular file is not restorable, is it a checksum, permission, what? I have looked through the logs and forum without luck. Any ideas anyone? Below are the 2 types of errors
1. you are not allowed to modify permissions for created (recovered) file or folder. Click ignore to recover with default permissions. This happens once per recovery and will not hinder creating the restore but I am not sure if my file is created correctly. I tried changing the permissions access to everyone for folder and subfolders without success.
2. Failed to recover file or folder "File name". Retry / Ignore / Cancel. The backup doesn't register an error but restoring fails and I do not know how to fix it. I can duplicate the issue by creating a New backup job and trying to recover it. It doesn't matter which drive I restore to; same error. I do not see anything in the forums that addresses this issue and am concerned that without your help, my product may be unusable. I am on Win 10 current updates, NAS - Buffalo Tech Linkstation Duo, True Image Home 2016 build 6559.
This 2nd error fails to restore the file and I am not finding others with the same issue, much less a solution. I would say that about 100 out of 20,000 files failed and each require the retry / ignore or cancel option.

jbkbob,
Suggest you boot from 6559 rescue media and perform the restore...see if you get the same error messages.
On a side note, Windows permissions drive me nuts.

Here is the log and thank you for letting me know about the log viewer. It helps alot. I will boot from the emergency disk and try it from there

Backup then Restore test case worked from 6559 boot media. I then booted to windows and the backup created from boot failed to restore from windows.
Unfortunately, I have upgraded to 6569 so now I have to go thru tests again but windows backup - windows restore doesn't work on 6569 either. I guess I now know that the product with Windows 10 combination is where the problems exist.

I have been having issues when restoring from a fresh backup. I have win 10 true image 2016 with build 6569 and an NAS. The permissions errors (see below) makes me think that it is with either my Data partition which has been with me thru many versions of Windows; XP, 7 and now win 10 or my NAS. When I run the backup and restore from the emergency boot disk, it completes successfully. Can someone direct me or provide me on how my data folders should be owned and the permissions. Is there something special that needs to be done on the NAS permission wise when I restore from a backup? This was a test to make sure that my data was recoverable and for the past week, it has been a nightmare. Any help would be appreciated.

jbkbob,
You need to attach the file with the error message.
Also, are you running ATI as administrator? Right click on the icon and select Run as Administrator.

Please see KB document: 58004: Acronis True Image 2016: Troubleshooting Issues Related to NAS Credentials which may offer some help in looking at your permissions problem.
I am not seeing any attachments on your posts - please ensure that after you use Choose File, that you then click on the Attach button, and that the file type is one of the permitted types shown.

I guess I didn't send the log correctly. I'll give it a try. Steve, Thank you for your suggestions. I am looking at it now.

Thanks for the log file, the key initial error that I can see is:
Failed to modify permissions.
You are not allowed to modify permissions for created (recovered) file or folder '\\?\UNC\LS-WVL8AD\BobsNAS\Data\New folder\._apple_ipodtouch_guidedtour_20080909_cc_848x480.mov~1DVL3P0L'.
Click Ignore to create (recover) the file or folder with the default permissions.
Click Ignore All to do the same for all such files (folders) without further confirmations.
Otherwise, click Cancel to stop the recovery process
You then are given further errors resulting from the above, such as:
Failed to recover file or folder
