ATI2016 Win10 - Interrupting Windows Sleep mode
Hi,
Yesterday I upgraded my existing AT2014 installation to ATI2016.
Since then, Windows no longer goes into sleep modes as it does before.
I didnot change anything else in WIndows.
When I run powercfg - requests from a command shell, here's what I get:
[SERVICE] \Device\HarddiskVolume3\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Acronis\Schedule2\schedul2.exe (AcrSch2Svc)
How can I fix this issue?
Thank you in advance
- Bodo

Thanks Steve for jumping in.
Yes it's the latest build that I've installed yesterday: 6569

Ok, thanks for confirming the build version.
Next question, are you scheduling backups to occur at either shutdown or at boot / logon time?
The schedul2.exe program identified by powercfg is the Acronis Scheduler service that would be responsible for performing such backups and the Windows Hybrid Sleep aka Fast Startup would prevent Acronis from recognising that an actual shutdown / restart had happened as a form of hibernation is being used by Fast startup.

Also, what type of backup(s) is/are scheduled? If it's a daily backup, this would not be normal, but a NSB could cause this since it would want to run every 5 minutes.
You can stop the scheduler service, but that would prevent scheduled backups from running so that is probably not ideal.
FYI, I have the same result, but it doesn't prevent me from going to sleep.
C:\WINDOWS\system32>powercfg -requests
DISPLAY:
None.
SYSTEM:
[SERVICE] \Device\HarddiskVolume4\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Acronis\Schedule2\schedul2.exe (AcrSch2Svc)
AWAYMODE:
None.
EXECUTION:
None.
PERFBOOST:
None.
If you manually put the system to sleep, does it immediately wake up? If so, I'd run the following command to see if it was really Acronis that woke it up or something else. Could be an attached USB drive, an open remote share, media sharing, or something else.
powercfg -lastwake
I had this problem with Windows 10 and it ended up being my media sharing due to PLEX and multiple tablets, phones and TV's always being connected. I got around it by setting the advanced power options for media to "away mode" as explained in the article below...

Yes Steve that's correct, I do scheduling backups, but not at shutdown/boot logon time.
I didn't have this issue before using ATI2014 on my Windows10 System.

Great Bobbo_3C0X1 , Thank you for yor detailed information, realy appreciate it!
When I manually put the system to sleep, it immediately wake up.
Heres my result from powercfg -lastwake
Activatingprocesscount: -1
Activatingprocess [0]
Activatingsource count - 0

K, no luck there - that one is a bit generic. How about..
powercfg -waketimers
Assuming it is Acronis (or perhaps something else though), you could disable wake timers completely as detailed in:
http://www.howtogeek.com/122954/how-to-prevent-your-computer-from-wakin…
under the Wake Timers & Scheduled Tasks and the If You’re Using Windows 10 sections

Thanks Bobbo_3C0X1,
Here's my result from
C:\WINDOWS\system32>powercfg -waketimers
[SERVICE] \Device\HarddiskVolume3\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Acronis\Schedule2\schedul2.exe (AcrSch2Svc) scheduled Wake time expires at 09:59:00 on 04.05.2016.
However, I belive I managed to get it solved with these steps:
- In Windows advanced power options I set wake timers from "enabled" to "Only important wake timers" and than switched it back to "enabled".
- Also in device manager I disabled "device can wake computer from sleep mode" for HID-keyboard and HID mouse devices.
Now I can put Windows into sleep mode manually and it works also as specified in Windows poweroption, i.e sleep mode after 30 min.
Thanks again
Bodo

Glad to hear it! I think you nailed it with the "only important wake timers". You may not be able to wake the computer manually by moving the mouse or pressing the keybord with the other 2 disabled, but usually you can quickly press the power button or the dedicated sleep button on the machine and it should wake that way too.
I believe the system may not wake for scheduled backups with the only important wake timers enabled as well. Perhaps not a big deal, but just something to keep an eye on too if you do need it.
