Installing Acronis True Image 2016 0n a Vista operating system
I have True Image 2015 on my Dell desktop w/Windows 10. It works fine. So, I decided to pick up True Image 2016 (3 computer) for the other "machines" in the house. I have a new Dell Windows 10 laptop and my wife's Dell desktop running Vista. That's the problem. True Image 2016 supports XP but not Vista.(????) What happens if I attempt to install it on the the Vista Machine? Can I backup everything except the operating system, or won't it work at all? I'm not sure that I want to upgrade to Windows 10. Is it the only option?

I have a serial numbe for the Acronis True Image HD and when I try to run the program, it says you must have a WD disc on the system???I am trying to clone a hard drive on my desktop using the software provided by Crucial who provided the SSD-thanks the HDD on the desktop is a Seagate.

William, you should try to create a new post for your issue / question instead of tagging on to another users post when you are asking about a totally different issue.
Please see KB document: 2201: Support for OEM Versions of Acronis Products
OEM versions of Acronis may impose restrictions to tie them to particular vendor products as it seem is the case for your WD OEM version. You will need to go back to Crucial and ask them for a version that will work with the SSD they supplied to you.
