“Failed to read from sector 1,309,390,880 of hard disk "1."

Thread needs solution

The following has happened twice with Acronis True Image 2016, the first time with the original install of Acronis 2016 (the starting image of Windows 10 of an incremental backup) and the second with the latest (an incremental image of several from a Windows 7 start). This is on a Windows 10 Pro 64 bit install of about a week go. The same True Image 2016 (original install) worked fine on Windows 7 (also Pro / 64) a week ago.

“Failed to read from sector 1,309,390,880 of hard disk "1." Try to repeat the operation. If the error persists, check the disk using the Check Disk Utility and create a backup pf the disk. Failed to read the snapshot. (0x10C45A) CRC error. (0x100155)”

I have run a couple of versions of check disk on the Windows 10 install but they did not find anything wrong.

I would be grateful for any ideas, please.

The failed sector may not be on C: but instead on a sector in the bootloader or recovery paritions.  Did you run "chkdsk /R"?

Also, in advanced settings there is an option to ingore back sectors and disable prompts.  If you check those options, it may proceed past the bad sector automatically.
