Acronis won't notice backup file on external drive when I use Acronis recovery with F11 key at start up

Thread needs solution

I am trying to find out why when I try to locate my backup (.tib file I beieve) from hitting the F11 screen and going into Acronis bootloader it doesn't show my backup. I can see other files on my external WD 3 TB Passport drive but the folder I made and put my backup in doesn't show up. Does anyone know why this would happen? It's hard to have a backup on an external if I can't backup from it. Please advise. Thanks.

Welcome to these user forums.

If you are able to see other files / folders on your external WD Passport drive when booted into the Acronis Startup Recovery Manager (ASRM) program using the F11 key, then any other folders / files on that same drive should also be visible to you.

What do you see when you look at the same external drive from Windows Explorer - can you post a screen shot showing the folder & files it contains?

What version of Windows OS and of Acronis True Image are you using here?

How did you create the backup file on the external drive?  Was it from within Windows running the Acronis program, or by some other means such as from ASRM?  If it was the latter, are you running Windows Fast Start on this system?
