I secure on a NAS. The volume is included in the Explorer. I want to protect the backup from Ransom software. How can I prevent write to the NAS without the Acronis does not work anymore?

Karl-Heinz, you should not map any drives / folders on your NAS to Windows if you want it to be more secure as if your Windows user account has read/write access to these mapped drives / folders then so can any malware / ransomware if you get infected by this type of virus.

On my own NAS I have a unique user account for use only by Acronis with restricted access to the backup folders on the NAS.  This NAS user account is not the same as any Windows user account and I do not map any drives / folders to the NAS from Windows.

I use the same approach that Steve uses; unique user name (and password) for Acronis backups to my NAS.
