Reboot after Disk Clone works but NO "DOS" screen to monitor progress...
This issue is fairly recent. Never had a problem making a clone or booting from one (or cloning back to original disk) before a few weeks ago. It's as if some Acronis vga driver interface had become corrupted. I'd like to be able to monitor the progress of the cloning processes (e.g., the partition checking and text progress histograms of white characters on a black screen, like this
########.............. ########..............
and the final success and boot disk instructions (i.e., ending with something like "hit any key to turn your system off").
As it is, I have to "wait it out" (watching what I suppose to be colorful compressed scan lines flickering at the very top of my screens), hoping that all is well. Thereafter, I have to test the clone (as I would anyway, of course) to ascertain that the cloning process has, indeed, completed correctly. (It does, as far as I can ascertain.)
Can somebody please help. Win 7Pro 64, Gigabyte X58, 6GB trichannel, i920, Vertex Turbo SSD 60GB, 2x36GB Raptor Mobo Raided (Intel). Most Current (Apr. 2010) Version Acronis True Image Home.

Very appreciated; I haven't yet tried this but will. Didn't know the Acronis Bootable Media (which I assume is what you refer to) provided the function. If it does, as you know, this is a very good idea. I'll be interested to see if the visual noise clears up. I'm still curious, however, as to what might have gone wrong. The process was working just fine and then phfffft!
"Preferred Method"??? If so, then by whom? Acronis says nothing in the UI about not electing the Clone option on their screens (in preference for using the CD).
Anyway, thanks again!
