Unable to Backup Files From a NAS, either by UNC or Mapped Drive

Thread needs solution

Im using the latest version of B&R 10 for SBS and SBS 2008. I cannot backup the files stored on my NAS to a USB hard drive connected to the server. It fails instantly with the error 0x00040002 which I have no idea what it means.

I am able to backup to the NAS ok, I can copy files to and from the NAS in Windows. Backup Exec handled this task without a hitch.

Please assist.

Unfortunately it's hard to say for sure what exactly happened, so this situation requires investigation. Could you please gather the following information?

  1. Acronis Info
  2. Exact sequence of steps performed.

After that please kindly contact support directly with the information attached. Keep in mind that should there be any procrastination with the reply, you can always specify us the case number. We will do our best to speed up the process.

Please also keep in mind that during the file backup from NAS snapshot is not created and we cannot guarantee stability and safety of opened files. Should they be used by any other program, they may fail to be backed up correctly.

I just installed Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 Build 10.0.11647 on my SBS2008 Server and am encountering the same problem.
