Huge compression suddenly?

Thread needs solution

I have a bunch of computers all running various versions of Acronis True Image home.  One specific machine is Windows 10 Pro 64-bit and the drive image is currently 16GB in size.  The actual used space on the drive is 80.1GB and I am imaging the entire drive.  That computer is running the 2016 Acronis version.  My main computer has 135GB used space and the backup image is 105GB.  Either the compression is incredible or something is wrong.  When I view the backup I can dive down into the folders and see my files and everything looks good.  The other concern is I kept the original which is from the year 2016 and that file size is 25GB backup image.  No data was on the computer in that version, just the OS and all software that needs to be run.  There wasn't 50GB of used drive then.  I created a new Full backup just to see what would happen, and the file size is identical.

Very difficult to guess why you are seeing such a small backup image size without access to a lot more information / detail.

One suggestion would be to mount the backup image to a drive letter then use a tool such as TreeSize Free to compare the original folder sizes with the sizes shown for the mounted backup?

Check your Exclusions page settings too.

The size can differ because the compression settings are different. I usually use max compression (takes longer but save space).
