Hello Frank,

The issue you experience is a known issue with Acronis True Image Home 2010 build 6029, similar is discussed in this thread. In order to investigate the issue I have requested crush dumps in post #37 of the above mentioned thread. Our development team is already aware of the issue and is working on the fix. Please collect the requested information and submit support request. See this thread post #37 for step-by-step instructions.

NOTE: The possible reason for the issue can be Acronis Disk Director Suite 10.0 installed. Acronis Disk Director Suite 10.0 (build 2239) and Acronis True Image Home 2010 (build 6029) are incompatible, but the current build of Acronis True Image Home 2010 (6053) solved the incompatibility issue. See release notes here.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in this matter.

I'd like to take a risk and continue this very old thread. Yes, Disk Director Suite 10.0 totally killed my True Image 2011 installation. I first installed TI 2011 and then DD 2011. When I tried to resize a partition it was totally killed. I had a backup for sure, so not a huge deal, just a frustration. So I got a refund for DD2011 and deleted it. I didn't know anything about incompatibility of DD Suite and TI Home and installed DD Suite. After I changed the cluster size on my system drive from 4 KB to 16 KB, that's actually I installed this DD for, I rebooted, checked disk, reindexed it, then tried to start TIH2011 - no luck, same issue as may people described:

1. Ok, I completely deleted DD Suite - it didn't help.
2. I reinstalled TIH2011 - didn't help.
3. I uninstalled TIH2011, then cleaned the registry deleting all entries and branches having the word Acronis, deleted all directories with Acronis files including the shared/common ones, then rebooted.
4. Installed TIH2011 - didn't help.
5. Tried to repair TIH2011 - didn't help.
6. Reinstalled DD Home 2011 hoping that it will replace the broken files - didn't help.
7. Installed the latest update of TIH2011 published on 8/8/2010 - didn't help.
8. After I rebooted I tried to load the Acronis from the TIH2011 CD - it worked with no problems, I was able to add the recovery manager (F11).
9. After I rebooted again - TIH doesn't work again with the sme exception.

Does that all mean that DD Suite replaced MSVCR80.dll with something broken?

Why I found a lot of errors with the same address and error code on the Internet with many different applications including Nero, Acrobar Reader, SQL Reporting Services, some games, etc.? Does that mean that I will need to completely roll back to some backup saved before I installed DD Suite or I can simply replace some file to get everything fixed?

Adding a few lines later. I scanned the whole hard drive and found 55 different files called MSVCR80.dll. Then I ordered them by size and found that there are 7 DIFFERENT versino of the same file with the same name installed by different applications and having different size. So I guess it's important or even critical which file is used for each app. That's why sometimes this file is located in the same dir as the application installed it, but sometimes some app can simply rewrite this file in the Windows System Folder. So I decided to keep trying different versions of this VC lib hoping that I will find the one that will work.

Attached (Versions.zip) are 7 different versions of the same file that I found on my system drive. Btw, it's Windows 7/64 Professional, AMD Phenom X4 3.75GHz, 8 GB RAM, etc. The question is what file you guys are using for your development? Also keep in mind that I didn't compare all the files by content. I could do that but it will take a much longer time. Let me know if you need that.
