Unable to restore a newly backup image
I am trying to restore a crashed partition on my new Gateway computer, which is running Window Vesta 64 bits. I have created 3 copyes of the image using the Acronis 10, but when trying to restore the original image, I noticed that Acronis 10 cannot recognize the hard drive + it has told me that all 3 backups have corruption.
I need this computer to work and I thought restore will be very easy as advertised. Then, there is a technical challenge, please please please help me to restore my computer...

I have seen this with backups too. Despite backups being 'successful' and verified, when you try to boot from them (or even restore normal files from a tape) the backups are corrupted and you are left with massive problems. I have told support, but just got send to a web page suggesting update drivers etc etc.

I cannot believe Acronis... My external USB drive did not have hardware problem, and all 3 backup images on it cannot be all dead at the same time. The support told me to try Acronis 2010, so I downloaded a trial version (I am glad that I did not buy this time), and made a bootable. Booted up the Gateway machine, guess what? It did not recognize the hard drive and all 3 backup images are again corrupted.
Anyone tried http://www.paragon-software.com/home/db-professional/?
I am also trying the "backup and restore" utility coming from Win7 on a new HP machine. The utility seems to be able to create a system image and a boot disk. When I booted the machine up with the boot disk, it can see both internal and external drive, which contains the system image. One issue I have noticed is that the utility does not allow you to choice where on the external drive to put the backup image. If the external drive is dedicated to one machine, then it will be fine, but if it is shared with 3 machines then there would be a problem with image confusion and overwriting.
Just thought that may help.

Hello all,
Thank you very much for your post. Please accept my apologies for the delay and all the inconvenience caused.
Lian jin, asmodeus, Darryl Leaning,
We have a standard troubleshooting guide to resolve issues with corrupt backups. I would recommend checking the hard drives for errors, performing a validation and moving the backup to another location, an internal hard drive for example.
If this does not resolve the issue, please go through the Troubleshooting Issues with Corrupt backups tutorial in our Knowledge Base article and if it does not resolve the problem, please submit a support request with an AcronisInfo report and a mention of the backup location.
Please let me know if you have any other questions.

How did you all solve this problem?
I am at the same exasperated point.
I was using Acronis True Image version 10 Personal.
Have many verified .tibs.
I even used one over a week ago successfully with the Bootable Media Disk supplied.
Now that I had to reload Windows, I can see my .tibs on the external. Acronis sees them as the "C" drive.
Acrnois does not see my internal "C" drive.
The option to restore back to is only to the external drive where the .tibs are.
PLEASE Help
