Hi,
The issue is likely related to specifics of NFS server hosted on particular NAS device + specifics of VM backup agent, which I guess is Agent for VMware (Virtual Appliance) in your case and NFS client used in this agent. One known issue (specific to NetApp Altavault NAS and probably some other models) is that if NFS server exports root share, e.g. nfs://[IP]/:/ then backup to any other NFS export on the same NFS server would fail. This problem is fixed in the upcoming Update 2 for Acronis Backup 12.5 which we plan to release during next week. If this is not the case, then the problem needs to be investigated with help from our support team.
Thank you.

Hello Vasily,
Here is what the export is:
nfs://192.168.13.15/raid0/data/_NAS_NFS_Exports_/Acronis:/
The NAS is a Thecus 7700
It supports NFS version 3 in the original documentation & I have it updated to the last firmware they have for it.
Please let me know if you have any information about using Acronis with this NAS.
I will see if the anticipated update that will be released next week helps or not.
Thank you,
Ed

Hi Ed,
So far we've got report about issue backing up to a different Thecus model ("N8800PRO") over SMB, which revealed a problem with not supported file locking functions on this particular device (internal ID: TTASK-21012). The error in that case was slightly different to yours one, but the root cause may be the same. The only solution for that problem was switching to backup format version 11 which does not have strong dependencies on file locks provided by target storage device. Still it makes sense to wait until Update 2 is out and try it to see if behavior is changed. In parallel I'd also recommended to submit a support ticket - we will try to find some alternative solution for your specific case.
Thank you.
