Encountered error when trying to backup to FTP server.

Thread needs solution

I have been using TrueImage for a number of years but this is my first experience with backing up to a FTP server. I am attempting to create the backup on a laptop (Windows 7 64bit) through an "N" wireless network card to a USB 2.0 external hard drive connected to my Asus router. Every time I attempt it I get the following Acronis error message: "Error occurred while creating the file. And the following Windows error message: "Operation paused Error occurred while creating the file, if you d not make a decision, the current operation will be automatically cancelled in 10 minutes." I have tried to create backups on two different laptops (both Windows 7 64bit) with different versions of True image and I get the same error. I've tried setting the network connection speed to the limit of my "N" card but that didn't help. I haven't tried changing the HDD writing speed because it is not technically a local drive. I just updated to the latest version of TrueImage (7.046) and still no joy. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hello David,

Please accept our apologies for the difficulties you've experienced with our software.

Let me assist you.

There can be different reasons for the error you have, so we need some additional information from you to investigate the issue, find out what exactly caused it and to provide you with a fix.

Could you please do the following?

We are looking forward to hearing back from you at your earliest convenience.

Thank you.

Hello Ilya,

I have been pretty busy the last few days and just read your post. I will attempt to comply to your request for information in the next couple of days. Thanks for getting back to me.

Dave

Hello Ilya,

Again I apologize for taking so long to get the information you require to help me. I have been incredibly busy and just got around to it. I have attached the files you asked for (I put the pcap file in the AcronisInfo.zip file). I also have some additional information that may be of assisitance. I have ecountered the aforementioned error on two laptops now, both using Windows 7 64 bit accessing my usb 2.0 hardrive through wireless "n" cards and my Asus router. In addition I also ecountered the same error with my desktop using Windows 7 32 bit and a wired connection to the same hard drive and router. I thought it may be a data transfer issue so I tried copying a large image file I had created locally and was successful in copying an 8GB file over the same wireless connection I was attempting to use to create my Acronis backup. I have included only the data from the computer that first encountered the problem which I describe in my original post but, if you wish, I can obtain the data from the other two. Thank you for your assistance. Hopefully, with this additional information, you will be able to resolve my issue.

Dave

I ot lya,

I have posted the information you requested and it has been over three weeks with no reply. Is there any progress on my issue? Is there something further I am required to do? I have invested a significant amount of money to set up my system to back up my computers to my FTP hard drive and to this point that investment has been wasted. I would appreciate some sort of update if that is possible. Thanks.

Dave
