Incremental backup not matching

Thread needs solution

I told Acronis 2018 to make a new full version after 48 increments.  But instead it is doing it every 27.  It is done every hour and told to recycle those older than 21 days.  Why is it doing it every 27 vs. 48?

Josh, welcome to these User Forums.

I am not aware of any issues in this specific area of making new full versions after a set number of incrementals, so this could be a new problem / bug or something else going on here?

I would recommend downloading the MVP Log Viewer tool (from the Community Tools link below) and using this to check the task logs for this task in case any error messages are being reported in the logs.

I will setup a small test task with the same configuration of a new after 48 incrementals to see if I will also get the same issue, but this will obviously take a little time to prove the point.

You can open a Support Case direct with Acronis for this issue if you wish to pursue it in that way too.

Josh, I created a simple Files & Folders task and then setup a simple Windows batch file to launch this 50 times at 2 minute intervals to test what happens when using 48 incremental backups then a new full, and all worked exactly as expected.

I see the following log file entries for this test task:

So, given the above, I still cannot advise why your backup task is wanting to make a new Full backup after only 27 incrementals if you have configured for 48.  I would recommend double-checking the actual Backup configuration settings, as well as checking the log files.
