Online backup fails - connection has been interrupted

Thread needs solution

Using Acronis True Image Home 2010, Build 4021, trying to access online backup. It says "connection has been interrupted." I get an Event code: 0x00980191+0x009800C8+0x009800CD which only turns up two forum comments from people using Windows XP. I'm using Windows 7 (64 bit). The cert that those two mention don't appear to be relevant. I searched the KB as well but didn't come up with any tickets at all.

This has been going on for some time. I'd appreciate someone's input on what is causing this.

I'm all so getting this message using Acronis True Image Home 2011 Build 4083, I don't even get the login screen. Is the problem with Windows 7 (64 bit)?

Same here. Also Windows 7 64-bit. And when I try to login manually to Online Backup, I get the same "connection has been interrupted" message. Have Acronis on another Win 7 64-bit computer and have no problem getting in on that one (though online backup fails so consistently that I am fed up and looking at alternatives).

Ditto! Win7/64 Same error message. Failed backups for 2 weeks and can't connect through the software either. Online subscription has always been active. Please advise - frustrating...

Better alternatives available -
I have been trying both Jungle Disk and Mozy for some time now, and find them both to be completely reliable (unlike Acronis Online) and faster than Acronis. I have now switched. Acronis Online was simply not worth the hassle, the constant reliablity issues I experienced, and the unbelievably slow performance of the interface.

I see this as well. I do have a paid subscription and I had backed up my system a couple of months back. I would like to add a couple of files. The website login works.

I would appreciate if Acronis answers here. Otherwise I feel I was sold a non working product.

I have a Vista system.

The above link solved my similar problem "Connection has been iterrupted" on Win7-64bit. The certificate had to be manually deleted. Works great on reconnect now.

Hope this helps

Thanks Mark, followed the link and deleted .crt file. Got the login screen, data to backup list was still there but the schedule had to be reset. Seems to be working now.
