Restoring image to new PC

Thread needs solution

I have built a new PC and I want to try restoring an image to see if it works without using Universal Restore. The SSD in the new computer is brand new and unformatted. I have attached photos of the steps I have taken but I am unsure about the last 3.steps. Step 3 requires me to Specify recovery settings of partitions 1 - 4. I have to select New Location. In step 4 the NTFS (New Volume (C) is the the drive which contains the backup image which is being restored, Is this correct?

When I have restored images in the past I have not had these options.

Thank you for any help & advice

Martin, please see forum topic: [How to] recover an entire disk backup and consider doing this at a disk level not at a partition one.

Thank you Steve, I'll try this when I get home this evening. Hopefully I'll be able to restore  a working image without having to use universal restore

Restored backup & PC booted OK but windows is slow & laggy and unresponsive. Is this to do with the different hardware? Any ideas on how to sort out these issues?

Martin, good to hear that the restore went OK and the new PC booted OK afterwards.  I would suspect that Windows is discovering new hardware etc and keeping itself busy while it adjusts to the new environment in which it finds itself!  I would suggest leaving it to run for a while, i.e. overnight then do a restart and see if it has improved?
