Can't Delete Old Backups

Thread needs solution

My external hard drive is full so I need to delete some old .tib backup files in order to do a new backup. If I highlight a backup to be deleted a box pops up saying “choose what you want to delete”. The choices are “whole backup” or “settings only”. I chose whole backup. A new box pops p saying “backup file is unavailable. You can “retry” but that doesn’t work either. I can also just remove it from the list but that won’t free up space on the external hard drive. I know that it isn’t advisable to use windows explorer to delete a .tib backup file from the external hard drive.

Please, any ideas on how to delete a backup on the external hard drive?

Welcome to these User Forums.

What version of Acronis True Image are you using here?  That will help us to understand how to advise you further.

You can delete your old / unwanted ATI backup .tib files using Explorer but it is recommended that you should then perform a Validation for any task that created those deleted files.
