Can't restore a backup. What am I doing wrong?

Thread needs solution

I'm running TI Home 2011 on Win7 x64. I do a complete, encrypted, validated system backup every night, to an external USB HDD. Periodically I restore a file to make sure everything's working right. I did a trial restore a couple of days ago in preparation for moving my files to a new PC. The idea was I'd have the old PC do its backup the night before, and the next day I'd just restore the backup to the new system (these are just data files like jpgs, pdfs, docs, etc.).

Well, today is the "next day" and it's not working. You can see from Acronis1 that MyBackup2 is valid, but when I click on "Recover last version" (or "Explore all versions" or "MyBackup2") I get the warning in Acronis2. If I click on "Browse," select the backup in the file window, and click on "Add to backup list," it asks for the password. I enter it and it responds with the same warning again.

If I click on the same backup in Windows Explorer, it asks for the password and accepts it, allowing me to expand all the subfolders and open/copy individual files. I cut and paste the same password in all cases, so it's not a typing error.

What's going on?

Try working with the 2nd listing in your picture. The MyBackup_ may have what you need. Use the Explore all versions option and chose our file from the timeline.
