Can I restore a single application that stopped working after an update of the product.
This morning I allowed my Quicken Home and Business program to do an update. When the update was finished I received a dialog saying the update had been completed successfully.
Normally speaking when a Quicken update has completed successfully the application restarts so you can working in the application. This morning it did not.
I made repeated attempts to start the program and all you get is a momentary flash and it never starts.
Is there a way to recover a single application from a full backup made several days ago? I hesitate to restore the whole backup because I made several changes to the system that I don't want to redo.
I'm running Windows 7 Pro w/SP!.

If you have Windows' System Protection enabled and you have a convenient Restore Point, you might be able to do a System Restore to roll back the implementation. Some people report having problems with System Restore but I have not experienced any. I try to remember to manually create a Restore Point before installing program that might be "iffy". (And I usually forget.)
I'm not sure what all a System Restore undoes. I know it rolls back changes to program libraries and the registry. I suspect it also rolls back ProgData. In any case, it's a lot less drastic that a complete system recovery.

If the Restore point fails, you might try to go to the Quicken Mondo patch page, download it and try to run that. Maybe you can recover it that way.
