Confused about backup file size
I just got ATI 2010 and don't get the file size. The partition I backed up was 220 gigs at normal compression, the tib backup file size was 220 gigs. Why would the backup file size be larger if it uses normal compression?

Thank yoou. I have thousands of jeg and photoshop file, and as you say, some my not be further compressed. I get that. But why would the tib be larger though. Worst case is it would be the same size I would think. I do not have the sector by sector option check which I hear increases the file size. But I don't use that option.

You stated that both are 220 GB. So if that's true the TIB file is not larger. Perhaps there was a typo in your post. The image should not be larger than the source. Do you by chance have any hidden partitions, I'm thinking that might have been provided by an OEM (Dell, HP etc.)?

I did make a mistake. The partition is 220g. the tib is 222 gig. I checked on any hidden files and there were some that total 220 megs. So I'm still over on the tib by about 1.87 gigs. Thanks for the help and any further. :)

And a follow up question. Do you know if TI compress RAW or PSD files? The first is a camera image format, the latter is a photoshop format? Thanks

I'm not familiar with those formats. Perhaps other users will jump in and offer their thoughts.
