Acronis says all backups fail or cannot be found. Backup data base appears corrupted. How to fix
All of my backups, full and incremental fail or cannot be found by acronis with messages that there is no backup to restore or the drive cannot be found. All the backups are there and can be navigated to by selecting restore from an old backup that seems to be ok. Click find the backup and I can navigate to all my backups on various drives. I do an incremental backup monthly with 2 incremental months. Acronis shows that dif_b1_s4-vi will be restored. I am on dif_b11_s2_vi. The old number is from several years ago and cycled off long ago. Is there anyway to remove the acronis backup data base which is apparently corrupt and have it regenerated. If so will it find the backups currently on my backup drives. I remember a procedure to do this many versions ago. Is there a file that can be deleted and will be regenerated with the next backup. Likewise would uninstalling and reinstalling solve the problem. Again would I be able to find my backups in the reinstalled

For me, when a backup task goes wonky, I tend to think something caused it to go bad so I prefer to start fresh. Personally, I would delete the task (just the name/settings) from the console and retain the existing backups for posterity as long as you need them. I would then start a new backup task (with a unique name - don't use the same one - especially if you plan to hold onto older backups where that name was already used) and continue on with it. That usually fixes everything. And you should still be able to recover the old backups with rescue media, or by importing the backup into the console in Windows if you do need to recover from it down the road.
But if you want to try and "fix" it, then Steve's method is usually the way to go. Whether it will truly be fixed, or address the underlying problem that caused the issue in the first place though, may be difficult to determine.
