TrueImage 2011 - Outlook Backup Problem

Thread needs solution

Hi,
I bought the new 2011 PlusPack version of TrueImage yesterday and want to use the Emailbackup feature.
The problem ->
- If Outlook is started, the backup goes to 54% and then stays there forever
- If Outlook is not started the Backup produces an error -> Joblog:

Allthough I entered the Username and password - I tried that 4 times twice with the computername in front of the username (ComputerName\Username). Neither worked. An interesting fact is, that the user and password don'T get stored because everytime I open the backupproperties I'm asked to provide the accountdata.

I'm using: TrueImage 2011 Build 6597 (German), Windows XP SP3, Outlook 2003

Will there a patch, or ist this a known problem ?

Welcome to our Forum, we're glad to have you with us. I understand your concern, and will do my best to shed the light to the situation.

This is a known issue. It happens in case there are still some Outlook processes running (or Outlook itself). Currently our Development team is working on implementing the fix, and meanwhile we would appreciate if you could use a temporary workaround: 

  • Make sure Microsoft Outlook is closed (not running) at the time of the scheduled backup task execution. The backup should then be successful;
  • Run the backup manually (i.e. without scheduling it). The backup should then be successful even if Microsoft Outlook is running.

Should it remain, please gather Acronis Info and contact support directly with the information attached. Keep in mind that should there be any procrastination with the reply, you can always specify us the case number. We will do our best to speed up the process.
