Acronis home 11 reboots when loading on Win 7 32bit Virual PC
I am trying to make a new virtual PC under Win 7 32bit. Every time I boot with Acronis 11 Home rescue media I get the main choice screen but when I select "Acronis true image home" it looks like its going to load and then the virtual PC powers down. How can I make new virtual machines if Acronis won't even load?

I am using TI 2011 with plus pack and using the rescue media created using TI. I have only tried using Microsoft's virtual PC under Win 7 at present. I didn't know you could also download rescue media, is this available from my account on the Acronis site?
I have used virtual box before with acronis rescue media with no problem so is the issue with Virtual PC or TI 2011?
I appreciate any help I can get on this problem.

The same thing happens when I boot the PP version of the downloaded ISO. However, the normal version ISO boots up into TI.
Do you need the PP version? There may be some options to get it to boot.

The rescue media I am using is the PP version as I want to use the universal restore to take a Win XP .tib file from my old laptop. I want to run this in virtual PC as some of the software on it will not run in Win7. Is there somewhere that I can change some settings in the rescue media to try and get it working?

Do you need network access? I can get my PP ISO to boot successfully if I set the NIC adapters to "None" in the VM's settings.

Network access is not required so I'll give it a go tomorrow and let you know what happens. Thanks for your help.

Hi MudCrab. Thanks for your help, turned network off and away it went. Had to put my laptop image on 5 DVD's to enable it to work without network but worked a treat! Maybe there will be a software fix for this problem in the near future???

I'm glad it worked out for you. I will let Acronis know about the problem (just in case they don't read this thread). It's nice to have network access available.

Hello all,
I was unable to reproduce the issue. I used the latest build of Microsoft Virtual PC available here.
I tried it on two systems (Windows 7 32bit Professional and Windows 7 Enterprise 64bit). I booted the virtual PC from physical CD disk and from ISO file created by means of ATIH 2011 build 6597. Acronis Plus Pack was included, networked share was accessible.
To find out the reason of the issue we should reproduce it in our test lab. Please make sure that you are using the latest build of Microsoft Virtual PC, and if the issue still persists, please obtain dump file of VMWindow.exe process and sysinfo file and send me a Private message.
We are awaiting for your response.
Thank you.
