Overview says system not fully protected, although backups have been done

Thread needs solution

The 'Overview' page of my Acronis True Image Home 2010 application says 'Your system is not full protected. Perform the following operations: Back Up My System'. However, I've just backed up both the 'C' system disk and the 'D' data disk on my Acer Aspire AX3810 PC. I'd be grateful if someone could explain why I'm getting this message and what I should do about it. Thanks. John Barker

Hello John,

Welcome to the forum and thank you for your post. I will certainly help you with resolving this issue.

Most likely you are getting this message because you have moved the backup files from their original location. Our program keeps a small database which is used to track backup locations, it is found here: /Documents and Settings/All Users/Application Data/Acronis/TrueImageHome/Database

When a backup is moved, the program fails to reflect that change and shows the message - Your system is not fully protected. However, you can try the following workaround:

1. From the main program menu click on the Recovery tab.

2. Click on the Browse for backups button and locate all your backup files, they will be added to the list.

3. Navigate to the following location on your computer: /Documents and Settings/All Users/Application Data/Acronis/TrueImageHome/Database

4. Right click on the archives.xml file and open it with Notepad.

5. Find the following string: Archive DataType="0" Flags="0" and change it to Archive DataType="0" Flags="8"

6. Close the archives.xml file without changing its name and restart Acronis True Image 2010 Home. You should be good to go.
