Acronis True Image Home Recovery each other (2010-2011)

Thread needs solution

Dear Acronis Supporter,
- There is an image (*.tib) created by Media Rescue Disk (Acronis True Image version 2010). When reach newer version 2011 I am wondering that ensure that version 2011 could be recovery completely for that image? with Media Rescue Disk, ensure that successfully?

Should I always keep up to date to using latest version of True Image Home?

- If someone using product from Acronis as Acronis Workstation. Image file extension .TIB aslso. We dont have any details information which products was created, I tested by using True Image HOME to restore, of course error show blue screen.
I mention the issue to Acronis 2 years ago, but until now there is nothing to recognize. That's why the question was asked again.

Hope that Acronis take note my opinions.

REgards,
Hoang

Hello Nguyen Hoang!

Thank you for finding time to open the thread regarding this question, I will be glad to address it.

Acronis True Image Home 2011 can surely restore the image, created with Acronis True Image Home 2010 (or earlier versions). Please note that we do not guarantee forward compatibility. Backups created with a newer build/version of the product may not be supported by older builds/versions. For example, restoring a backup created with Acronis True Image Build 8163 may fail with Acronis True Image Build 8076, or restoring a backup created with Acronis True Image Home 2010 may fail with Acronis True Image Home 2009.

We also cannot guarantee that backup compatibility between corporate and home product versions due to their different architecture structure.

You can find more information and the backup compatibility table in this KB article.

We always advise to keep the product up-to-date, since the updates may contain new functionality and always contain fixes for the known issues. Since update is not an upgrade, and you don't need to pay to get the latest version, it's highly preferable that you update the software each time a new build is released.

Should you need anything else or have any further questions - feel free to contact us at your earliest convenience, we will be happy to help you!

Thank you!
