Acronis Schedhlp Disable

Thread needs solution

Lately when I boot, I sometimes note that Acronis TI is disabled. OS is XP Pro with latest updates.

MSConfig has both Acronis lines checked for startup. Service.msc shows Acronis SchedHlp2 is disabled. I reset it to automatic start and start the process and all is ok. This is happening on most but not all bootups.

PC is squeaky clean - no malware. Has a Windows update created a problem with Acronis? How do I fix this?

Apart from Internet Explorer and general software updates there are no longer any actual XP updates from Microsoft, so whilst an IE update might be causing the problem it won't be an actual XP one.

Have you added or deleted any users recently or installed any other software that might install it's own services?

What version and build of TI?

In Services who is listed on the log on tab for the Schedhlp2 service?

There is an updated scheduler build 461 that might work when installed, but it would be worth seeing if the problem is solvable on your system before downloading and installing a newer Acronis scheduler. It would be advisable to make sure you have a current image of your system before updating the scheduler. An alternative would be, depending on the version of TI you are using, a repair install may solve the problem.
