Data read error when cloning hard drive to new SSD drive

Thread needs solution

I'm trying to clone by old hard drive to my new SSD drive but keep getting this message Acronis True Image software. I have checked my disk using CHKDSK /R and using the my disk drive's brand disk check program. In both I get no issues. I have thought about pressing Ignore/Ignore All but don't want to risk it.

I have also included a report that was generated when I used Acronis VSS Doctor.

Sergio, welcome to these public User Forums.

'Failed to read data from sector '49,239,184 of hard disk 1' is nearly always (99%) a true indication that there is an issue with that disk drive (Windows disk 0).

If CHKDSK is not finding a problem on your C: and D: partitions, then it is possible that the error is coming from the smaller 948MB hidden / system partition (System Reserved or EFI).

When using CHKDSK did you use the /R parameter to check for bad sectors?

Eg:  CHKDSK C: /R

This can take quite a long time to run but will better identify if there are bad sectors in the partition whereas just using CHKDSK /F doesn't do this.

I would also recommend making a full disk backup of the HDD before attempting to clone again.
