Backup failed True Image 2020 with mvp log
Hi. I recently got acronis true image, have been trying to back up windows 10 pc. But it keeps failing.
1) I have tried to reselect all my drives/folders that I want to backup, and destination folder.
2) I tried running acronis as admin.
3) I tried making sure all permissions are allowed on the destination file.
4) I have tried turning off my firewall/antivirus bit defender program.
This is the message I get

Alexander, the Can't read slices: Error 0x40011 has been seen associated with disk errors on the source disk drive for the backup task.
Please try running the Acronis VSS Doctor tool (link below in my signature) and see if this flags up any such errors?
See forum topic here where another user reported the same error caused by a bad disk.

Did a quick search of the Acronis Knowledge Base and found nothing. Pleas advise the build of ATI 2020 you are using and the version and build of you operating system: for example Windows 10 Pro 64 build 1909.
I see that the backup appears to be an *.tib rather than *.tibx, this suggests that if it was whole PC or disk and partitions backup is was originally created by an earlier version of ATI. So, please advise the type of backup task, and if it was created with ATI 2020 or an earlier version of ATI. Acronis advises that in place upgrades should only be used if prior version is ATI 2019 or ATI 2018; if you have an earlier version you should (1) save you backup settings (on the left of ATI GUI select settings, and backup is at the bottom), remove ATI, (2) restart Windows and then install ATI 2020. You should also run the Acronis True Image Cleanup Utility if you are using ATI 2014 or earlier (you may also need to use if a later version was installed).
Another possibility is that the installation is corrupted, so download ATI installer from your ATI account, then run the installer (using run as administrator) and when prompted select repair rather than uninstall.

Acronis True Image 2020, Build 25700
Windows 10 pro version 1909 (OS Build 18363.720)
I was trying to backup specific disks, as I don't need to backup my games drive, and I excluded specific large folders.
This is my first install of an Acronis True Images, so no previous versions.
I will try repairing next. Just gonna get to Steve Smiths suggestion first.

For some reason there is a bad character in an xml file when I run that so I can't export the log file, but attached will be a screen grab of it(Also can't select the text so would have to hand copy everything...).
EDIT: actually looks like it saved the log even with the error.
EDIT2: Fixed the "VSS Shadow Storage Status) By hitting the fix button(o.o didn't see it before). But that didn't help with the "VSS Writers Status".

Rerun after the above EDIT2. And now it is saying my main drive is overloaded at 7% usage(NVME).
"
Status: Warn Description: Some disks may be overloaded. VSS may behave incorrectly under such conditions. Stop heavy operations or wait until completion.

Alexander, are you also running the Windows System Image Backup tool on this system along with Acronis?
The VSS error at the bottom of the log text file would suggest issues with Windows System Image Backup?
See webpage: Backup problem where this has been reported to Microsoft and looks to be caused by having a bad character in a partition name.

So after running SFC I got the number of errors down. Then after doing some research I realized a backup tool I used along time ago EaseUs ToDo Backup is know for causing problems with drive partition names. So I fallowed the advice here using gdisk and what do you know, bad partition names. Now my problem is the hybrid MBR table is also bad on that drive, so trying to find someone expereinced on that matter to fix it. Will keep this thread updated on progress.

Sounds like making progress Alexander, thanks for keeping us updated on this.

Yeah definitely, hopefully this all helps someone else down the road. Which no errors now after actually using w in gdisk to write changed partition names, and a restart and all the errors are gone/table is fixed! Now just gonna wait till tonight when I don't need to use the pc to try a backup!
