Why do I have different drive symbols on "This computer"?

Thread needs solution

Hi all!

Something that greatly bugs my OCD... just kidding, but I'm curious as to why that happens and maybe how I can sort this out. See the picture, both volumes are identical (even the same hardware), created on the same day, copied the backup task, same source. Why do they have different symbols? Bug or feature?

Thankful towards any insight!

Cheers

Adrian, welcome to these public User Forums.

The icon for your E: drive is that used for all local drives including USB, the icon for your F: drive is that used for a network drive, i.e. one that is mapped to a Windows drive letter.

On my PC, E: is an internal SATA drive, S: is a USB 3.0 external drive, and Z: is a network WD drive connected to my router.
