initial backup continually being interrupted

Thread needs solution

We recently signed up for the online backup utility, but our initial backup seems to be interrupted frequently. We are trying to update the entire contents of the C:/ (about 75 GB) and the backup is now about 54-55 GB. At one point the dialog box did say something had been successful, but as the size of the backup and the size of the hard drive didn't match, I was skeptical and clicked to continue backing up. It has added about 5 more GB since then (bring it to the 55 GB figure). Is there any reason for these stoppages? Do we just need to keep trying when the backup stops?

I must admit to having similar problems now that I have finally got the online backup to accept my Windows password (which it required before it would allow me to set up a scheduled backup). The initial backup has stopped several times, but the last time it stopped (this evening) it said the backup was completed (which was nowhere near the case as it has only backed up about 2 GB). I immediately restarted it and it now says it has 13, 617 files to back up (about 44.5 GB) which it reckons it's going to back up in a fraction over 1 day (previously, it was telling me it was going to take about 9+ days, which was more believable). I am starting to have serious doubts about whether this backup software can be trusted to secure my precious data. So far, it hasn't impressed me at all. How do we contact Acronis about this (I cannot see a link to their support staff for this particular service)? I may have to send a message under a different heading to get around this. If I cannot get this resolved I shall definitely be cancelling my subscription.
