Services Running "aakore.exe" Conflicts with Windscribe VPN

Thread needs solution

TI Version: 25.8.1 Build 39216
aakore.exe Version: 1010.1.289

I use Windscribe as my VPN.  I've been having issues with it crashing and not disconnecting back to my original IP Address without rebooting.  After some diagnostics, the VPN seems to be conflicting with TrueImage 2021.  I finally disabled the Service "Acronis Agent Core Service" which executes aakore.exe.

I can't figure out what this Service App does.  TrueImage seems to still run okay, plus I validated an existing "Image".  TI seems to work.  I currently have it disabled and need a solution so that I can use both software’s together.

If anyone is experiencing the same issue or has a suggestion, please reply.

See KB 65464: Acronis True Image 2021: Windows services and processes for descriptions of the purpose of each of these components.

Ideally, rather than stopping any Acronis service that causes a conflict, you should whitelist the service to the VPN, and set an exclusion for the VPN in the Acronis protection settings.

aakore.exe is basically a controller app for a number of internal Acronis services, particularly related to the protection functionality.

I have been doing various experiments with it lately. While there are ways of turning things off and on, my current findings are that the ACPHO app doesn't really like things to be missing and the results are a flood of log messages while the app is constantly trying to connect to a core service. On the other hand, there is always a flood of log messages through the core services and I'd like to find a way to minimize that.

Meanwhile, I am not prepared to make any specific recommendation on these findings. So, I suggest following Steve's recommendation above.
