Some Computer makers like HP won't allow you to download drives for their Mother Board

Thread needs solution

I have recently purchased ABR10 advanced and installed it on Windows 7 ult. When creating bootable media, I'm prompted to select .inf files for universal restore bootable media. Some Computer makers like HP (The one I have) won't allow you to download drives for their Mother Board from their web site. it is a big secret if some thing happend, they want you to stick the Recovery CD and install everything from scratch. How to I create a bootable CD in this situation. This is a very important machine and i need to protect it and bring it up at no time. Please HELP

Hello Ben Saba,

Welcome to our Forum, it's nice to have you with us! I understand your concern, and will gladly assist you.

Please note that you need drivers only in case you're restoring onto the dissimilar hardware - and only for the new hardware. So in case you're recovering onto the same machine or the motherboard is the same, there's nothing to worry about: these drivers are already in the image.

In case you're recovering onto the new machine, and the motherboard model is different, I would advise you to contact HP support directly: it's quite a common practice to provide Customers with the drivers for the dissimilar hardware recovery.

You might also find this Acronis Universal Restore Guide useful, it contains step-by-step screenshot, and may guide you through the process of recovering to the dissimilar hardware.
