Ext2 Partition Recovery Problem

Thread needs solution

Hi , I recently backup an Ext 2 partition by ATIH through Windows ( using EXT2FSD) . And I Reinstalled Ubuntu 10.10 and XP SP3 , the problem Is that ATIH does not recognize neither ext2/ext3 partition nor ext4 partition when opening the .TIB file on xp . I Tried to Open Acronis on Ubuntu using Wine but there were errors and i was unable to do anything because the software crashed with wine . Is there a solution to get back my data ? ( Knowing that the TIB file is on an external HDD ) Thanks for your help . Bye.

when opening the .TIB file on xp

The wording makes me think that you try to double click on them in explorer. Recover of individual files is not supported for linux filesystems in TI Home, so you may either restore tham (partitions) as partitions, or (as you have EXT* filesystem drivers in your windows ) mount them.

Even Restoring to an ext2 partition on the local HDD failed at the last seconds of the process and a blue screen of death appears .
The issue is : when backing up the EXT2 partition , ATIH sees it as an EXT4 partition .

EXT2FSD can't find the backed up partition because it's contained in a .TIB file .
IS there any solution to that ?
