Migrating TIB files to new HDD
Looking to MOVE all TIB files and other misc files/folders from my old Backup HDD to new Backup HDD, tied to my ATI 2009 Home version-equipped WinXPpro system.
Have the current files on an externally mounted/USB docked HDD and want to move them all to my new HDD which is connected to computer as a secondary SATA HDD. (connected concurrently)
Looking for the BEST/MOST ACCURATE way to pull this off. Should I ~clone the disc~ to my new drive?
Once all moved off my old drive, I will be re-formatting/partitioning for use with another persons' backup drive. Thanks!

After copying to new disk and after verification, still consider keeping the old disk "as is". Call it a safety valve.
As for the copy procedure, I believe my choice would be to use the free "Replicator" by the recently deceased Karen Kenworthy. It is a great program and it will copy all the files and also provide an error report of its results.

I forgot to mention, you might need to make new tasks as the new image drive won't have the same disk signature as the old, so if an existing imaging task fails imaging to the new drive this will be the cause.

Colin:
So, after the copy/move-over has occurred, before I expect any utilization of the historic data, I will need to create new tasks onto the new disc.. AFTER the new Backup HDD is ready to go?
I wondered about Acronis' ID-marking/hardware synching innerworkings?!

Gary,
If the new drive has a different drive letter to the external you will definitely have to remake the tasks as this along with the drive ID from Windows registry are used to identify the drive to be attached to a task.
If the drive letter is the same, then try running a task, if it works then no further action is necessary
.
Note though, it is best to make complete new tasks, editing an existing task is prone to vagaries when running it.
