Thread needs solution

Tried with Full bootable version and Safe version - neither work on my old laptop that i bought in 2006. However on my recent laptop, loaders worked which makes me wondering - why problem on old laptop?

What version of TI are you using?

Any other errors or error messages than this one?

For Linux, they tend to drop "old" drivers out or change them without notice. What works in one release won't in another.

For DOS, have you looked in the BIOS for the drive controller settings? It's possible that changing to a different mode (IDE Compatible, AHCI, etc.) may let it work (make sure to switch back to the original setting before booting Windows).

If you have an older version of TI available, does it work on the 2006 laptop?

Only disabled SATA in BIOS and still same problem. Forgot to switch setting to original and booted into Windows, but everything was fine. I don't have older version of TI.

What are alternatives? I cannot boot Acronis on this laptop then what can be done to restore my backed up data?

You could certainly try using Grub4DOS. Just understand that it will be loading the same version of TI and it may still have problems (depends what the actual cause is).

MudCrab i want to create multi-boot USB thumbdrive with everything that would help fix and restore system. Rescue, Format, Fdisk, Antivirus, Antimalware, MS-DOS, Acronis and Windows XP that would allow me to boot from. But i think it has a huge learning curve to do so? I must create boot menu, i must know Linux a little...

It's not that hard to do with Grub4DOS, especially if you use the ISO method. Have you looked at my guide?

Creating a BartPE or WinPE-based CD for the first time may seem difficult, but it's while worth the effort to learn. Once you have it down, it's usually a simple matter to add stuff and tweak it until you get what you want.

I understand why you don't insist on Grub4Dos. It is because i will still boot in MS-DOS environment, right? And with BartPE or WinPE i will boot into Windows environment?
