Is it safe to disable the three Acronis items in Vista startup programs.

Thread needs solution

I use TI10 with Vista and normally run it from within windows. Windows defender/startup programs lists 3 items.
1. Acronis scheduler helper. What is this ?
2. TI Monitor.
3. Timeout monitor.

I can't see these being required to run at startup but thought I would ask.
Thanks... let's hope this forum is as informative as the old.

If you intend to use TI from within Windows then you will need these services.

Timounter = Mounting gizmo - if you don't want to mount any of your images then this one can be disabled, though I'd probably set it to manual.

Acronis Scheduler = Does just that, it is the daemon/gizmo/thingy that allows TI to do -1. Run schedules and 2. Tto actually perform any image making even manual ones.

TI Monitor = The systray icon.

These don't actually take up any RAM to speak of nor any CPU time, only when they need to run, The entries in TaskManager are placeholders to all intents and purposes.

Thanks for that... This is the ONE program you never want to fail :)
Always run Acronis manually anyway.

Hello Mooly,

Thank you for using [[http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/ | Acronis True Image 10.0 Home ]]

"TrueImageMonitor.exe” - Acronis True Image Monitor. This program provides the interface between running Acronis True Image tasks and the user. It allows to observe the tasks progress and cancel the running tasks. It is started when a user logs into the system and terminates when the user logs off. This program is not required by Acronis True Image to perform its tasks,
and can be terminated if you think it occupies too much memory, but you will loose the ability to control running Acronis True Image tasks.

The special TimounterMonitor.exe process monitors the mounted images and constantly checks if there is enough space on the storage to save all the changes made to the sectors of the mounted image.

Schedhlp is executed as a separate process for any logon, works till logoff and notifies Scheduler service about logon and logoff events.

All Acronis resident modules uses very little amount of physical memory in normal state (when no imaging or other task is performed) since operating system swaps them off to the swap file on the hard disk. Disabling of these services with Acronis True Image 10.0 Home installed may cause some issues with the correct working of the program and of the system.
