Recovery environment
I recently received the 2010 CD and tried unsuccessfully several times to boot into the recovery environment. Number 1 in my boot sequence is the CD and the CD drive is set to autorun. Contained on the disk are two files: TrueImage2010_s_en2.exe and TrueImage2010_s_en.exe. Who/what is missing something- I or the CD? Thanks for any help.

Yes, it's the CD mailed from Cleverbridge.
I have the electronic version of 2010 installed on top of the Beta version. I don't have a CD burner capability, that's why I ordered the CD so I would have a rescue disk.

I don't have TI2010 so I can't be very helpful. I would say that the files listed look more like installation files although with the recovery environment being Linux it could be the other files aren't beng displayed in Windows.
There is a chance the CD sold by Cleverbridge is strictly a backup for your electronic purchase. Hopefully, somebody who can be more helpful will set us straight.
You could put the CD in the PC and then double-click on one file or the other and see what starts up.
If possible, you could install the software on another PC with a writer and create the rescue CD. It is machine independent. Remove the software from the second machine as soon as you are done and you won't run afoul of any licensing issues.

Dmitry, I guess I can assume from your post that the CD which I was sent is not bootable.
The recommended solution isn't reasonable- download, copy, find a friend's machine with a burner, install burner software, create a bootable CD, try it on my machine, if it fails, repeat prior process until it works. You've got to be kidding!
Why isn't the CD which I purchased so I would have the ability to use the recovery environment bootable?

Jim,
Reading your initial posting I find the file names a bit unusual. File TrueImage2010_s_en2.exe appears to be a second copy of the installation file. If the CD is bootable there should also be a folder named Recovery Manager but as Seekforever suggested this may be a hidden folder. Could you state the sizes of the two executable files? Does your CD appear to be professionally created or is it a copy that Cleverbridge provided? In my opinion it would be best to uninstall any beta or trial versions before installing the current version.
EDIT: The more I think about your situation I doubt that the CD you received is bootable but I could be wrong. When I ordered the upgrade (electronic) I received a confirming e-mail from Cleverbridge with an order number, a serial number and a link to download the installation file. I downloaded the file but discovered that the application would not install. I then registered the product and downloaded another copy from the registered products page. The file name was different (TrueImage2010.5055_s_en.exe) and this installed without any problems. I realize that this does not appear to be your problem as your issue is to be able to boot but thought I would mention it.

There is no "Recovery Manager" file and both TrueImage files are 110MB. The _en2 is obviously a copy of the other file, both are 5055 versions.
I have no idea about whether the CD was professionally created, but the label is Acronis Product CD and includes my name and the serial number.
I did uninstall the Beta version before I installed the download version, which also was 5055.
I got the impression from the sales literature that the product CD would be bootable; I guess I was wrong.
