MSIinstaller messages on TI startup 7046

Thread needs solution

Every time I start TI, I get the following messages in the evenet log:

(misinstaller 1015 - warning)
Failed to connect to server. Error: 0x800401F0

and
(misinstaller 1035 - information)
Windows Installer reconfigured the product. Product Name: Acronis True Image Home. Product Version: 13.0.7046. Product Language: 1033. Manufacturer: Acronis. Reconfiguration success or error status: 0.

Here it is exactly the same. The message disappears when the option "automatic update" is unchecked in the options.
I don´t know what causes that warning. Disabling the firewall is not a solution. The warning remains.

Hello all,

Thank you for posting your question, I will be happy to help.

The issue needs a closer investigation. Could you please provide us with the following information?
1) Have you updated the program to the latest build or have you installed the program from the scratch?
2) Please obtain AcronisInfo file and send me a Private Message, we will redirect the issue to our QA lab.
We are looking forward to hearing back from you at your earliest convenience. If the provided information is not clear or if you have any other questions do not hesitate to post them and we will be glad to answer.

Thank you.

Hello Oleg,

thanks for replying.

I have send a private message to you with the Info file.

I have done the following:
- Downloaded the complete installation file and installed it as acronis is telling it to do. The warning was there.
- Full deinstallation of the product and complete new installing. The warning is still there. No change.

Hello Uwe,

I am forwarding the request to our QA Team. We will try to reproduce the issue. I will update the thread as soon as possible.

Hello all,

I would like to update the thread.

Our QA Team was able to reproduce the issue. The issue has been forwarded to our developers for improvement.

Uwe,

Thank you very much for your help.

Please do not hesitate to ask additional questions if the provided information is not clear or you need a further assistance.

Thank you.

I have the same problem, I have posted a separate thread with the same event ID's.

Thanks for your help.

Hello William,

As I've already wrote you in your thread, our developers are working on the issue. However, there's no any ETA for the fix. As a temporary workaround, please turn Updates in the application options off.

Thank you.

FYI This also happens on ATIH2011 B5519 and the Plus Pack Package. Not sure why this was not resolved before ATIH2011 was released?

Hello RayG,

Thank you for your message. I will definitely help you.

I am very sorry for the inconvenience. This specific issue is caused by traces of Acronis True Image 2010 Home, if, for example you installed Acronis True Image 2011 Home over version 2010. On a system with a clean installation of Acronis True Image 2011 Home this problem does not occur.

You can use our clean up utility to get rid of all software traces and perform a fresh install of version 2011.

Please let me know if you have additional questions.

Thank you.

Mine was a clean install in that I uninstalled 2010 before installing 2011.

To stop these issues I have unchecked the check for new versions and I no longer see the message.

So when the next version of 2011 is released hopefully in the next week or two it will resolve these issues as you obviously know what they are.

The answer from Anton is not acceptable. I bought a new computer in the beginning of october. There has never been an installation of ATIH2010 on it before. Than I installed ATIH2011. The issue with the event-id is not fixed in 2011 anyway. The only solution is yet to uncheck the option to
search automatically for updates...

Hello RayG and Uwe,

Thank you for your messages.

I am very sorry for the inconvenience, in this case, we will need to check the Windows event logs which are collected by our AcronisInfo utility. I was able to find your open cases with our support representatives, I am very certain that if you bring this issue up with them they will be able to analyze the logs and provide you with a solution.

If you have additional questions please let me know.

Thank you.

I have exactly the same problem, using ATIH 2010 (version 7046) with Windows 7 64-bit.

Acronis hangs slightly on the startup and produce the following event viewer logs:

EventID 1035:
Windows Installer reconfigured the product. Product Name: Acronis True Image Home. Product Version: 13.0.7046. Product Language: 1033. Manufacturer: Acronis. Reconfiguration success or error status: 0.

and

EventID 1015:
Failed to connect to server. Error: 0x800401F0

Disabling the automatic updates fixed the issue, I should have checked the forums for this months ago!

In anycase sorry to see these kind of little bugs with otherwise a good product.

Is this going to be fixed? It's been many months since the event 1015 "failed to connect to server error 0x800401F0" was discussed here and acknowledged to be a problem which Acronis had already replicated. Turning off automatic updates is not a fix (just elliminates the notation in the event log). Thanks

Jeff,

I doubt this will be fixed for 2010. If you are talking about disabling automatic updates in Acronis, I think you can safely do that. Don't expect updates for that version.

Hi, I didn't think so, but that's good to know. I purchased this low end version mos in advance of needing to purchase a backup & recovery solution for the 36 odd servers in our network. I try to do this when I can to get a bead on how a vendor really supports their products before jumping on their boat in a serious fashion. Thanks for confirming what I already thought. Having to purchase new versions each year to keep all the basic functions performing is something we try to avoid.
