Failed to collect archive

Thread needs solution

I have had to replace my HD and now I am trying to restore my partition backup.
When I attempt recovery with ATIH 11, it shows me no backups.
When I browse for backup and click on the backup file stored on a USB drive, it fails with the message
"Failed to collect archive in Try & Decide session"
The error is:
0x0103000D+0x006403ED+0x000B007F+0x00040011+0x0000FFF0+0x80070002

The software is looking at the files and changing the date (to tomorrow!) but not doing anything. I had backed up and recovered successfully prior to my HD going west. Now that I need a backup, I am unable to access any of them.
There must be a solution, please help
Thanks
Gerald

Try from the recovery CD. It looks like you trying to open an archive file that is not a regular archive, but a file create by the Try and Decide feature. Is it possible that you used that feature before?

No, I have never used the Try and Decide feature. I have tried from a Recovery CD and had the same problem. When I try to recover from the Bootable CD for ATIH 2011 the error message is "This is not the last volume of the backup archive."
I really need some help here.
Thanks
Gerald

Gerald,

Does your backup validate from the CD?

If not, is there any chance that you are missing a TIB file from the chain that you can recover?

If it validates, can you mount any archive file from the CD?

It looks like your backup chain/file has been compromised.

Pat
I cannot validate from the CD as you have to add the backup to the list before you can select "Validate".
I do not believe any TIB files are missing, in any case there are single file backups.
I cannot mount an archive from the CD.
You may have noticed that there are two threads for this topic, I have an offer of help from Anton Deev on the other thread, although we are as yet no nearer a solution

Then I am not optimistic. Hopefully Acronis support will be able to help out.
