Hyper-V Restore Performance Issue

Thread needs solution

Hello,

I've got a Test Windows 2008 R2 Hyper-V Server (Raid 10, 24GB RAM, 8 Cores). Via Hyper-V I'm running 3 Windows 2003 Server VMs. I'm now testing the use of Backup and Recovery to Backup this VMs. Acronis is running inside the VMs as standalone installation. Backup destination is an external NAS (10 GE).

The Backup-Process works very well and with a very good performance (60Mbyte/s). Im now trying to do an restore from the Bootable Recovery Disk which I boot inside the VM. Restore works very well, too. But the performance is absolutly bad: 9Mbyte/s. (Im using the "lagacy network adapter).

Has anyone had a similar problem and of course a solution?

Best greetings,

Markus

WinPE images based on Windows 7 / Windows Server 2008 R2 already have integration services in them. (c) http://blogs.msdn.com/b/virtual_pc_guy/archive/2008/05/30/hyper-v-winpe…
So you may give it a try. ( It was the first link that came up for "hyper-v winpe integration services" in google )
