Script Password Changes

Thread needs solution

Hi,

We are using Acronis True Image 9.1 across multiple servers (over 100). I am working through the endless beaurocracy here to try to get our license and support information so I can call support directly (I know for a fact we have a support agreement, I just don't have the info), but in the meantime, I figured I'd post this here.

There are occasions when I script password changes to certain privileged accounts. One of those accounts would be the one that Acronis uses for our scheduled backups. Using my scripts, I can change the password(s) and call schtasks to change the passwords for any Windows scheduled tasks that use those account(s). Is there a way to do that in Acronis True Image 9.1 via a command line interface?

For example, let's say I have an Active Task called "Nightly Backup 1" and it runs under a privileged/administrator account called "SysTasksAcct." Well, if I script a change to that SysTasksAcct, I can also script automatic updates of any Scheduled Tasks that rely on that account via schtasks. HOWEVER... I cannot do this for Acronis' Active Tasks. I have to manually connect to the servers via RDP, edit the tasks, click through all the screens and update the password.

Is there any way this is scriptable? I don't even care if I have to delete/recreate the task everyt time. It wouldn't be a big deal on a single or few servers, but with hundred(s), it would be a HUGE timesaver.

Thanks for any advice.

Zack

Hello Zack,

Thank you for using Acronis True Image

I would recommend you to check chapter 16 “command-line mode and scripting” to find examples of XML scripts. Use the following link to download user guide http://www.acronis.com/enterpirse/download/docs/
