Nonstop Backup help

Thread needs solution

Hi,

I recently started to use the Nonstop Backup on Acronis True Image Home 2011. It has been running for a few weeks and I thought all was good. Until today I needed to recover a file. So I browsed to the file and selected one from yesterday. The modified date of the file was correct, but once I recovered it, I discovered it was the file from weeks ago. This is really bad as now I don't trust any of the nonstop backup. Luckily I had a full backup that I could recover this file from.

Can someone explain what happened and why? Thanks.

Are you positive you selected the right date in the timeline before you restored?

Yes, I tried a few times, absolutely positive. Even the modified time on the file was 4:30pm yesterday, but once I opened it, it was a file from weeks ago.

There are not many things to try with NSB because of the nature of the technology. Are you using the latest build? If no, you should update.

The first thing to determine is whether this is not simply some problem with the current backup data.
Delete the backup task, remove the hidden destination folder (Time Explorer Storage) and restart the task. You should test it with a couple of files to see if the problem subsists.

If it does, the second thing is to evaluate whether there is some installation issue. Uninstall, reboot reinstall is the way to fix that.

Beyond that you will have to get Acronis support to evaluate how running processes on your machine might interfere.
