Acronis TI Update Build 6942 - Acronis Os Selector new Entry

Thread needs solution

Hi,

Since i made an Update of Acronis TI 2011 to Build 6942 Acronis Os selector shows a new Entry " Acronis Startup Manager". I did never aktivate that .

So, on booting my PC with Acronis Os Selector ( I have Multiboot) and ticking this new Entry "Acronis Startup Manager" my Pc boot into Windows repair Mode and Windows will fix MBR3 or so.

After that my PC reboot and I can boot in all my Systems via Os Selector

What happend ?

Is the entry still there or did it get removed from the OSS menu?

In my experience, OSS and the ASRM of the newer versions of TI don't work well together. Detection could also be affected. I would just ignore the entry if it's still there (hide it if you don't want to see it or delete it, though it may be redetected).

Hi,

the Entry is still there. What does the Acronist Startup Manager do If I tick that Entry ? Does that really fix something with Windows Repair ?( because Windows is loading Files)

It sounds like it's just booting to WinRE (the Windows Recovery Environment) -- the same as if you pressed F8 on Windows startup and selected it. It's not going to hurt anything, but it can make "repairs" if you let it. Most of the time I recommend not doing any automatic repairs when multi-booting because Windows boot repair can screw things up. It's generally better to make any necessary repairs manually.

Hi,

@Mudgrab, many Thanks for your Help.

Because my Multibootsytem runs smooth and fine - I go back to a previous Image of my Main OS where Acronis TI 2011 Build 6868 and OSS is installed. After a Restore - Now this Entry is not there and Im feeling a little bit better !

I will never update Acronis TI and DD - to much Risk ! With Updates from Acronis TI 2011 I have a lot of Trouble in the Past...

Best Regards
