Suddenly takes four times as long for a backup

Thread needs solution

For years I have been using Acronis True Image v 9.0. It usually takes about 45 to 60 minutes for a full backup of my C: drive, all 122Giga bytes. Today I replaced the 400 Gb SATA drive with a 2Tb SATA drive. The backup took over four hours. Anyone know why?

( Formatted the new drive using Acronis as NTFS)

Have you checked the new disk for errors? If there are any file system errors or bad sectors then TI will drop back into "Sector by sector" mode where all sectors, whether they contain data or not, will be included in the backup. Is the size of the image that took four hours to complete any larger than previous images? Was your backup done from the boot CD or from Windows?
