ABR10 linux recovery never completes

Thread needs solution

While trying to recover the two larger LVM volumes using my ABR10 U5 (13762) recovery cd, it just sits without doing anything.

Three smaller vlm 4Gb volumes also selected restore normally, but upon reaching the larger 66Gb volume it just takes a nap.

I can cancel it, and the log just reports user abort.

Individually, either larger volume produce the same result.

The Archive validates, and it has been recovered previously, with an older release matching the version installed.

Any ideas where to look further for error messages or clues would be appreciated.

Target is a Vmware virtual server.

PS I have done many successful restores, but this is a real puzzle.

Mark.

After hours of testing, and leaving it running one did resume activity after 40 minutes after changing to recover the lvm volumes to partitions.

I'm running it yet again, and notice the Time Elapsed doesn't update once it goes to sleep.

I gave up on trying the 13544 cd as the lvm is broken in that version.

After even more frustration:

the recover is failing, but that is never reported to the GUI.

The recovery linux server clock stops updating, as when I aborted it and found an error message, the clock had stopped when the error was reported. Bizzare.

The error was "inconsistent link count", but it doesn't always actually reprt an error.

In desperation, I tried a manual restore with trueimagecmd.

WTF!! it recovered everything WITH NO ERRORS.

How to waste my days....
