Windows7 compatibility

Thread needs solution

I was perfectly happy running True Image 10 on my XP system, and had no reason to pay for 11,or 12 upgrade. However I have now changed my OS to Windows7 and it reports True Image 10 is incompatible during installation. Does anyone know if there is an update/method to get round this?
Does running in XP compatible mode work reliably?

The compatibility mode can only address certain issues, and it will not suffice to make older ATI version work. You have 2 options:
- run your backups and restores only from the CD,
- upgrade to ATI 2012.

Or find older ATIH2010 for cheap online somewhere--it's the first version to be compatible I believe. I use & like it, with W7HP x64.

I love ati10 -- the most solid and reliable version of ati yet made. I use it on any machine on which it will run. But I wouldn't try it on a W7 machine. At a minimum you are likely to have MRB/Track 0 alignment issues when you do a restore.

For Vista or W7 I'd go with ATI 2010. You should still be able to find these versions for sale on line if you google.

Note that you can use the ATI 2010, 2011, and 2012 bootcds to restore ati10 tibs -- and I find the bootcds much better than the ATI10 bootcd.

There was Acronis True Image 11 Home software pre-installed in my Fujitsu notebook when I purchased it in 2009. I have now re-installed Windows and I want to install the Acronis again. However I can only find the "Bootable CD" when I opened the sealed package. I am hesitate to use the "Bootable Disk" for installation. Also on the package it says this edition is Vista compatible but I don't know whether or not it will support the Windows 7 32 bit OP installed in my computer. I registered the products on Acronis website, trying to find out the answers but came up that they no longer support this product.
1. Is my edition of Acronis coampatibe with Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit
2. Can I sue the 'Bootabe CD" for installing Acronis True Image 11 Home software, or there should be another CD for installation? Is there any other mean I can have the installation done?

If you have registered a serial number then you can go to the website and download your version and install it. ati11, as opposed to at2011, is not designed to work on w7. you might be able to back up but when yuou restore you might have some boot sector alignment probs.

Thank you very much Scott. I am thinking to download the trial 2012 version after I get my Fujitsu back from repair, try it and see what I will do.

Take your boot CD for ati11 and make a backup before you install ati2012. Just as a safety precaution-- this way, in even the worst case, you will be able to get back any of your data files--even your whole disk although you might have to do a win repair to get the boot sector/track0 correct.
