How to resest Activations

Thread needs solution

I fought with getting ATIH 2012 installed on a win 7 machine. It finally installed and I activated it. I needed to reimage my machine and got it to reinstall (after a battle) and activated it. I just picked up a SSD and reinstalled windows and ATIH. It will not accept my activation. I have no machines where I can deactivate from.

What do I need to do to get the activations reset so I can continue using the software?

I must say I have been using Acronis products for many years and have faithfully upgraded each new version. 2011 was a mess from my point of view. The install issues and this activation crap on 2012 will make me reconsider upgrading when the new version comes out.

If your hdisk crashes and you need to restore, a situation similar to yours, you can run into this issue with online active activation. 1) you can contact customer service to see if they will straighten things out -- it's probably just a block on the activation number for your license.
2) If you have an acronis account, you should get a link in the error message and be able to log in through the link to the acronis web site and "move/transfer your activation to a new machine", so sayeth the Userguide on page 16:

http://www.acronis.com/download/docs/atih2012/userguide

But if that doesn't work, then you have to call them. So long as you are using on only one machine (or whatever the licesne allows, Acronis has to allow you to activate. They might ask for an explanation but they cannot deny activation. In this regard, it works the same way as activation of Windows. With Window, ime, an activatin call takes about 1-5 mnutes to complete. Don't know the level of support Acronis provides in this regard.

good luck,

Thanks. I have two licenses which I use on my two machines. I tried different things but end up having nothing happen.

I am hoping someone from Acronis notices this and responds.

I will check the link you included.
