Thread needs solution

Upgraded the management server/storage node (Advanced Workstation) and was presented with a message:

Module: trueimg_remote_full_vs
Message: The required service on the remote machine is not started. Start the service and retry the connection.

(Solution: the Acronis Web Server Service had been disabled, and had the wrong password set.)

Then the storage node service didn't start automatically, even though it was set to do so. In the management console, I couldn't connect to the vault: "Failed to connect to the storage node".

No matter what I do, I can't connect to the vault. Neither of the username/passwords - either domain or local login for the NAS - works anymore. I set it away getting a system information dump (because support always ask for that) and it's been running for over half an hour. A full backup takes less time...to tape...paper tape, with a magic marker...

If I try to change the credentials for the NAS, I get the error "The storage node is not available"

And to add to the woe, various bits of it crashed overnight, and none of the 25 machines made a backup.
