Blank Screen on Restore

Thread needs solution

Hi

I have made a backup using Home 10 and when I go to restore I get a blank screen after just after Post, the words Starting Acronis Loader appears but nowt after that, the monitor is still on so that tells me the GFX card is working but something just isn't right I have asked Tippesh from support but no reply as of yet so I thought I may as well ask here just in case anyone may know.

I have updated my BIOS from R01.B2 to B4, the machine was an Acer M3641 that had Vista it now has XP Pro SP3, I never tried Acronis on Vista as I just got the machine.

I have tried the ISO download, my Original Disc and 2012 and still no joy and the archive is fine.

Anyway a file is attached from Everest Ultimate with Specs.

Thanks people xxx

Probably just a case of your machine being too new for the ati version you are using. ati 10 came was in release from about October 2006-October 2007. You can try the current version of ati for free.

You might be able to contact customer service about the trial version ati2012 not working on your machine and see if they have any recourse to offer.

Already did that as said in OP Tippesh from support is looking into it but I'd thought I would try here also, it just seems that I have been waiting quite some time now :(

What's an "OP Tippesh"?

If you re-read my OP (original post) I said Tippesh from support is looking into this.

:D

Oh. I dkwywrtwyw "OP"

All sorted now a new MoBo has been installed its the Asus P5QPL-AM iG41 Socket 775 and because this board has Sata drivers on board that work with XP instead of loading the Sata drivers from F6 on start up all works fine, you see when separate drivers need to be installed first before the restore can begin Acronis stumbles and cant load because it has no idea what the storage device is because no drivers are on board to begin with.

So Acronis will only see MoBo's with on board storage controllers, F6 storage controllers cannot be seen and therefore no storage device is selected for a restore.

Sorted. :)
